A Growth Group for Women

Facilitated by Dr. Yvette L. Ward. Psy.D.

Experience Greater Love & Respect

Do you feel responsible for others' emotions, lack contentment and peace when others disagree with you, or "lose yourself" in relationships with others? Are you over-committed, harried, and pressured from giving to others, but feel unappreciated and undervalued in return? Are others dismissive of your needs and feelings?

If you feel dissatisfied with yourself or your relationships with friends and family, this 10-week group may help you overcome guilt, anxiety, depression, anger, or disillusionment. Topics addressed include self-talk, self-esteem, and self-care; listening and speaking with accuracy and empathy; assertiveness; detachment; releasing the past; expressing anger; conflict resolution; and stress management.

Common Symptoms Accompanying Disturbed Relationships

  • Loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities
  • Appetite problems-eating too much or too little
  • Restless sleep (frequent awakening; difficulty returning to sleep)
  • Excessive feelings of guilt
  • Low energy
  • Irritability
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Muscle tension
  • Sense of dread or vague uneasiness
